Classes started yesterday and Menomonie is buzzing with student life once again. I spent my summer in Boulder, Colorado working for an outdoor apparel company called Sierra Designs, so I missed out on the excellent Northern WI summer activities. Don’t fret–I managed to have a bit of fun out west running around in the mountains and learning a ton about outdoor gear.
Colorado was really scary and really exciting at the same time, and it was an unforgettable experience made possible by the UW Stout Apparel Department! Others in my program headed out this summer working for companies in New York, Chicago, New Hampshire, and one ambitious student landed an internship with an apparel company in Italy. Its always exciting to leave Menomonie, but I’m always just as excited to come back!
Since I’ve been back, there have been plenty of campfires, hikes, rock-climbing, mountain biking, and horseback-riding balanced out with regular hours at both Admissions and at Stout Adventures. Its been a lovely few weeks, and I was excited for classes to start. Goal of the year: no all-nighters, less caffeine, morning swim work-outs, and more organization…we’ll see how that all pans out…
