Stout Adventures just got brand new paddle boards! They are really similar to surf boards and came just in time for the warm weather.
SA will supply you with whatever you need to transport the boards on your car
We went to Lake Menomin, but you can also paddle board at the Bottoms, The Red Cedar River, or Lake Tainter
Throw on a life vest and secure your ankle to the strap of the board, and you’re ready to paddle!
You can sit cross-legged…
Standing can be kind of hard to get used to…
…and I may have fallen in several times.
But you get the hang of it after awhile 🙂
Jaci and I went half way around the lake and then cut back through the middle again. It was absolutely gorgeous!
Depending on how fast you go, you can get a pretty good workout with the combination of trying to balance and paddling.
I double-dog-dare someone to try yoga on these bad boys…
Overall, we spent about 3 hours on the lake and it was absolutely awesome. I have also heard of people doing yoga on them, like this lady form Montreal. There are two sizes of boards, so if you have a hard time balancing I would go with the longer and wider board. This is also totally something you could do on your own if you wanted. Renting everything costs about $15 for students, so go grab a board pack lunch, and make day adventure out of it!
