Project Better Gown

If you’ve ever been in a hospital gown, you know how uncomfortable they are. When you’re sick, the last thing you want is to look sick as well. Park Nicolett recently decided to change this forever. Project Better Gown was designed to engage design students in creating a brand new, redesigned, technologically advanced hospital gown that would benefit patients instead of hindering them. UW Stout Apparel Design and Development naturally took on the challenge. Our Functional Design class was split into four groups, and we began research.

After weeks of study and designing several prototypes, we submitted out designs. Three of the four groups made it into the nine finalists and we were invited to the Park Nicolett Celebration of Life Gala!

Thanks, Park Nicolett!!

UW Stout took third place, we got an amazing dinner, and the priceless experience of researching and developing a garment with a team. I am very grateful to Park Nicolett for allowing us this unforgettable learning experience, and proud to be a UW Stout student as usual!
